Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways, underlined the transformational potential of new technology in the agriculture sector at the Grand Finale of the HSBC presents CNBC-TV18 SME Champion Awards. Gadkari showcased initiatives that turn restaurant leftovers and agricultural residues into biofuel, showcasing creative solutions to problems facing the economy and ecology.
“By converting waste into valuable resources such as bio-aviation fuel, we are addressing environmental concerns and adding value to agricultural activities,” Gadkari said. He emphasised how important these kinds of programs are to encouraging sustainability and cutting waste.
Gadkari went into further detail on the initiatives’ wider effects, especially in rural, tribal, and forest areas. “Thanks to creative ideas, we are making tremendous progress in the agriculture sector. We are using agricultural and biomass waste to create CNG and ethanol production, which lessens our reliance on imports and advances a circular economy. These programs are essential for the forest, tribal, and rural communities because they provide economic stability and offer new sources of revenue.”
The government’s commitment to use technology for sustainable development and economic empowerment in developing regions is emphasised by the Minister’s statements. India intends to solve environmental challenges, stimulate the agricultural economy, and provide new possibilities for rural areas by concentrating on biofuel initiatives.
